The fine print

Privacy and Terms.

How we handle your personal information, and the terms for using our website and our Total CMS extensions.

Speedy Websites ("we", "us", "our") is a web design and development business based in Sutherland, NSW, Australia. We build and look after websites for small businesses, and we make and sell extensions and themes for Total CMS. This page explains how we handle your personal information and the terms for using our website and our products.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Last updated: 8 October 2026.

Privacy policy

What we collect

We only collect what we need to reply to you, do the work you've asked for, or supply something you've bought. That can include:

  • Enquiries: your name, email address, and (if you give them) your phone number, business name, current website and your message, when you use our contact form or email us.
  • Bookings: your name, email address and booking details, if you book through a booking form on this site.
  • Feature requests: your name, email address and idea, if you suggest a feature for one of our extensions.
  • Purchases: your name, email address, what you bought and when, if you buy a Pro licence. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
  • Client work: details we need to build or maintain your website, such as logins, hosting and domain details, and content you send us. While we work on your site we may also have access to information about your own customers. We only use it to do that work.
  • Technical information: like most websites, our web server keeps standard logs (IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time). We use these to keep the site secure and working.

You can deal with us without giving your name (for example, a general question by email), but we may not be able to quote, book or supply a licence without contact details.

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and provide quotes.
  • To deliver and support the websites, hosting, maintenance and other services you engage us for.
  • To issue, send and support Pro licence keys, and to let you know about important updates to products you use.
  • To manage bookings, invoices and our business records.
  • To keep our website and products secure and working properly.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't send marketing emails unless you've asked to receive them. You can opt out at any time.

Cookies, analytics and fonts

This website only sets the cookies it needs to work, such as a session cookie that keeps our forms secure. We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels, and we don't currently use analytics. If that changes, we'll update this page.

Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and Google receives your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.

Our Total CMS extensions

Our extensions run on your own server. Licence keys are checked on your server without contacting us, and our extensions don't send us your site's content or your visitors' data. When an extension checks for updates, your server requests our update feed, and our web server logs that request (IP address, time and the extension version), as with any web request.

Who we share it with

We only share personal information when we need to in order to run our business or do the work, for example with:

  • our web host, where this website, its data and our email are stored (Serversaurus, in Australia);
  • Stripe, which processes card payments for Pro licences;
  • service providers you've asked us to set up or work with for your project (such as domain registrars, hosting or e-commerce platforms);
  • our accountant and professional advisers, and
  • anyone we're required to share it with by law.

Some of these providers, such as Stripe and Google, may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We use reputable providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable with Australian law.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. This includes secure (HTTPS) connections, access controls, keeping software up to date, and storing client logins securely. We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law (for example, tax records), and then delete it or de-identify it.

If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@speedywebsites.com.au. We'll respond within 30 days.

If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Terms of use

Using this website

The content on this website is for general information about our services and products. We try to keep it accurate and up to date, but it isn't professional advice for your particular situation. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we're not responsible for their content.

The design, text, images and code on this website belong to Speedy Websites unless stated otherwise. Client websites shown in our portfolio belong to their owners and are shown with permission. Please don't copy our content without asking.

Total CMS extensions and Pro licences

  • The free versions of our extensions are provided as they are, without charge. We work hard to make them reliable, but please keep backups of your site.
  • A Pro licence is a one-off purchase in Australian dollars. It covers unlimited sites for every release within one major version (for example, every 1.x release). A future major version (for example, 2.0) may need a new licence; your existing licence keeps working with the version it covers.
  • Licence keys are emailed after purchase, usually within one business day.
  • Licences are for your own sites and your clients' sites. Please don't resell or publicly share licence keys or the Pro code.
  • We may cancel a licence that has been shared publicly or obtained fraudulently.

Refunds and your consumer rights

Because licences are digital and delivered straight away, we don't offer refunds if you simply change your mind. This doesn't affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If a product has a major failure (for example, it doesn't work as described and we can't fix it), you're entitled to a refund or replacement. If you have a problem, email hello@speedywebsites.com.au and we'll sort it out.

Our services

Website design, development, SEO, hosting and maintenance work is covered by the quote or agreement we give you for that project, which sets out what's included, timeframes and payment terms.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, and apart from the guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss (such as lost profits or data) arising from use of this website or our products. Where our liability can be limited, it's limited to supplying the product or service again, or refunding what you paid for it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
