Total CMS extension

Byte Checkup extension

One admin page that checks your Total CMS site's pages, SEO, extensions and server, and tells you exactly what needs fixing. Free to use, with Pro for scheduled checks and email alerts.

What it does

Your whole site's health on one page

Byte Checkup adds one page to your Total CMS admin that checks your website and tells you what needs attention, and where to fix it.

Instead of clicking through every page, collection and setting, open Byte Checkup in the admin sidebar. It checks your Site Builder pages, your SEO, your installed extensions and your server, then sorts what it finds into clear cards: green for fine, amber for worth a look, red for fix this.

Every problem links straight to the page or item that needs it. It only reads your site and never changes your content or settings, so it's safe to open as often as you like. Use it after a launch, before handing a site over to a client, or as a quick monthly check-up.

With Pro, you don't have to remember to look: Byte Checkup runs the same check on a schedule and emails you when something goes wrong.

See it in action

Your whole site's health on one screen.

Byte Checkup checks your pages, SEO, extensions and server whenever you open it, and shows what needs fixing first.

Four cards, one glance

Site Builder

Pages

Pages pointing at missing templates, routes used by more than one page, redirects with nowhere to go, a missing 404 page, and drafts nobody has touched in months.

Search & sharing

SEO

Missing meta descriptions, titles and descriptions too long for Google, pages without a share image, and images with no alt text. Picks your collections automatically.

Add-ons

Extensions

Which extensions are on or off, any that are failing or logging errors, and any that need a newer Total CMS or PHP than you have.

Server

System

Total CMS and PHP versions with PHP's support end date, debug and Dev Mode, HTTPS, free disk space, recent log errors and the job queue.

Settings

Show what you need

Turn any card off, choose which collections the SEO checks look at, and set your own thresholds for stale drafts and low disk space.

Maintenance

One-click updates

A built-in updater checks for new versions and installs them from the Byte Checkup page. Every download is checksum-verified.

Pro licences

How Pro works

Every extension is free to download and use. A Pro licence switches on the extra features. You pay once, there's no subscription.

How many sites can I use it on?
As many as you like. One licence covers every site you build or look after, with no per-site fee.
How long does a licence last?
A licence covers every release of the major version you buy: a 1.x licence covers 1.0 right through to 1.99, and it never expires. A future 2.0 would be a new licence, and your 1.x sites keep their Pro features either way.
How do I get my licence key?
After you pay, we email your licence key within one business day. Paste it into the extension's settings in Total CMS (Settings → Extensions → the extension → Licence key) and Pro switches on straight away.
Does it send anything from my site?
No. The key is checked on your own site against our signature, so nothing about your site is sent anywhere and Pro keeps working offline. The only outside request is the optional update check, which sends no site data.
What's in the Pro Bundle?
Pro for all three extensions, Pixel Plan, Byte Checkup and Relay Queue, with one key that unlocks them all, for less than buying them separately.
Can I get a refund?
Every extension has a free version, so please try it before you buy. We don't offer refunds if you change your mind or buy the wrong licence. This doesn't affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law: if Pro doesn't work as described, contact us and we'll put it right.
Requirements

What you'll need

The free version needs nothing extra. Pro's scheduled checks run through Total CMS's automations cron job (php bin/tcms automations:process), and its email alerts go through a Mailer template that Byte Checkup creates for you with one click. Sending email needs the Standard edition of Total CMS or higher.

v1.0.1

5 October 2026 · patch · Requires Total CMS 3.5.0+

The System card's "recent errors in the logs" check now works.

Fixed

  • "Recent errors in the logs" never worked: it asked Total CMS for a method that doesn't exist, so the row was missing and the page footer said the check couldn't run. It now reads today's log (or the newest, if under a week old) through Total CMS's own log analyzer: errors and worse only, each distinct error once with how many times it happened, newest first

v1.0.0

3 October 2026 · major · Requires Total CMS 3.5.0+

Byte Checkup is the new name for Site Health: the same site check-up page, as a new extension.

Added

  • Everything from Site Health 1.5.0: the Pages, SEO, Extensions and System cards, the built-in updater, and with Pro: scheduled checks with email alerts

Changed

  • New name and id: Byte Checkup (speedyweb/byte-checkup), so it can't clash with another vendor's "site-health" folder. Admin page: ext/speedyweb/byte-checkup/dashboard. The default Mailer template for alerts is now byte-checkup-alert. Updates come from the byte-checkup release feed
Upgrade notes

Moving from Site Health: remove Site Health, install Byte Checkup, copy your settings across (including the licence key), allow Automations for the Pro scheduled check, and use Create it now on the Byte Checkup page for the alert email template. Pro keys issued for Site Health or the bundle keep working.
